Happy day. I and my two critque partners are off to South Carolina this Sunday for a week of nothing but writing and critiquing each others' work. We leave our ever-lovin's behind so we have no distractions.
I've heard the dogwoods are in bloom, so it promises to be a lovely week. Southwest Florida doesn't have season changes as marked as northern climes. I'd never be able to live in snow country, but it's nice to visit.
Don't forget. If you are in the area of downtown San Francisco July 30th stop in at the Marriott and say hello, not only to me but about 400 authors who will be signing books at Romance Writers of America's Literacy for Life event. Possibly authors such as Nora Roberts/J.D. Robb, Linda Howard, Jane Anne Krentz/Amanda Quick, Susan Wiggs will also be amongst the 400 or so authors. It's an impressive site when that many authors make up the sea of people in a huge ballroom.
Brenda Novack's auction to benefit Juvenile Diabetes is coming up soon. There's something for everyone, be you a reader or a writer. Hop over and take a look at her auction page. It's for a worthy cause. This is my second year to donate goodies for auction. Just Google Brenda Novack to find her web site.
A reminder. I'll be blogging on PetticoatsandPistols.com on May 2nd. My subject is "Ladies of the Night." I'm sure all of you can figure out who they are. (smile)
My goal on the upcoming week in South Carolina is to finish my latest book, tentatively titled, Capture the Wind.
Until next time...

Joyce Henderson, multi-published in fiction and non-fiction, lives in Southwest Florida. Besides writing, she enjoys reading all genres, people watching with the idea of seeing quirky behavior she can use to give her characters more depth, researching the Indian culture, and schmoozing with friends poolside. __________________________________________________________
EXCITING NEWS: WRITTEN ON THE WIND is translated into Dutch. I look forward to hearing from readers in the Netherlands and Belgium.

My favorite book of all time: FAR PAVILLIONS by M.M. Kaye
I just finished Kay Hooper's FINDING LAURA. While it's a 1997 release, Ms. Hooper is a timeless writer.
A few of my favorite writers: Suzanne Brockman, Sandra Lee, Karen Marie Moning, Nora Roberts/J.D. Robb, Amanda Quick, Bonnie Vanak, and newly found Linnea Sinclair,
